Received some encouragements that gave me motivation to blog consistently.
Weekend was pretty eventful.
Sat
Delivered the lesson on Titus 2! Felt like a huge burden off my chest. Felt bad about the poor delivery and not able to spent time to do planning for the outing next this week. Still, I'm thankful for the brainwave of using "Charades" to tie in with the teaching. God always gives me cool ideas on activities for teaching. I always enjoy bringing out the moral of my lessons together with some pre-lesson activities. I believe this is one way to instill values and encourage knowledge retention.
Outings
Pretty upset about poor response for Sat's outing. One of the hardest part of planning teens outings is the uncertainty of their responses. You never know whether or not they will like the activities you've planned for them. Gone were the days where the little ones will faithfully attend every session and outing because it is the company that matters most. But then again, maybe the r/s is not as close as the time when I was a teens, so the motivation is not there. I'm really at a loss of what to do. As the older batch gradually move on, we really need to find something to gel the younger ones together. Who in the older batch is willing to stay? Who is willing to return and nurture the young residing in the very nest from which they came from.
Haiz, can anyone tell me what kind of outings we should organize for our teens these days so that they will be interested to come? Suddenly many ideas come to mind; Bridge Tournament, Movie Marathon, Board Games Competition, Survivor - St Michael's Estate... Well, then again, not sure if they will be well received. Pray that the teens will enjoy the outing this coming Sat. It's organized for them, not us.
Went out with some old friends in the evening. Pretty nice to catch up with them. Never knew how many years I've lived till I'm with them. Haha.. They are like God's reminders of the nostalgic past filled with moments of joy & sorrows. Each of them sharing with you tales of victories and setbacks. Memories of your history etched in living form. Old friends, don't you just love them. They are God's gifts to me, testament of my existence thru the decades.
Actually met up with more old friends on Sun. That's the reason for my reflection but I guess I shall write about it in another post. Ciao~
